After a month-long delay from Hurricane Dorian, our undaunted Vero Beach Lifeguard Association held their 9th Annual Poker Pub Crawl Sunday evening at Waldo’s, who graciously hosted the successful event.

In honor of the VBLA’s service to our community in keeping our beaches safer, Vero Beach author Alan Wolford was on hand for a Meet and Greet to help with fundraising for their new much-needed lifeguard tower and command center. His newest thriller “Cognac For Breakfast” features colorful scenes of our lifeguards in action. The VBLA wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Waldo’s, Costa d’Este, Mulligan’s and Grind and Grape, and to all who helped make this event a huge success. Funding for the planned and much-needed Humiston Park Lifeguard Tower and Command Center is still incomplete, and to donate to this worthy cause please contact VBLA at
